Relying on my "own feeble strength" leaves dead hopes as my legacy. 'What could have beens' replace what was to be!
"Oh that I had wings like a dove!" Escaping our problems is the cry of our weakness, but to trust God, believe His promises and speak of His victory in the midst of our trouble is real faith.
I am glad that we have the Word in our current language, but don't let these new versions cause you to miss the Whole Gospel! To leave out Mark 16:9-20 would be tragic. If we are in God's perfect will and about His purpose for our lives death cannot and will not claim us until we have finished His business and who would want to stay here after we are finished anyway?
Our purpose in life is to take the "burning coals" of the Gospel and stand "between the dead and the living" that they may choose life.
Chap 17 - The fear of God should draw us to Him not drive us away.
